Christmas Services

Sadly, much of our traditional pattern of Worship over Christmas will have to change this year due to restrictions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.  At the time going to press we still do not know whether we will be able to worship in church, but we very much hope we can. Our present plan is:

Sunday 6 December

10.45am  Christingle Service

Sunday 20 December

10.45am    Parish Eucharist for 4th Sunday in Advent

5.00pm      Service of Lesson and Carols (The likelihood is that only the choir will be able to sing at this)

Thursday 24th December

3.00pm      Crib Service on Zoom

Friday 25th December

10. 45 Family Eucharist for Christmas Day

Sunday 27th December

10.45 Benefice Eucharist

Sunday 3 January

10.45 All Age Worship for Epiphany (The Coming of the Wise Men)

5.00 pm Holy Communion (Said)

We hope to hold all the above services in church while maintaining social distancing with a Zoom Link available for those unable to be in church. If congregational worship in church is not possible all the service will take place online on Zoom

The Zoom link for all services is https://tinyurl.com/stmarys-zoom

Or you can use the Meeting ID: 848 3055 8684 Passcode: 277646.

If there are any changes we will put this on the church’s page on the Church of England website “A Church Near You” and on the church’s Facebook page. We will also email everyone on our database as well.

Because of COVID-19, there will sadly be no Village Carol Concert or street nativity this year and no Midnight Mass at St Mary’s as we have no opportunity to clean the church before Christmas morning.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone in the village a very happy and blessed Christmas.
