Sunday, 9 September 2007 was our Patronal Festival. In previous years we have celebrated this with a Bring and Share lunch. This year, however, we were delighted when Ben Tagg offered to prepare and cook a Paella for us. The weather was glorious and the Rectory garden provided a perfect venue for sixty or more hungry parishioners. A wood fire was made and we watched with growing anticipation as Ben cooked all the traditional paella ingredients over it in the largest paella pan any of us have ever seen - he apparently brought it back from Spain by plane! The Paella was delicious - and several of us were fortunate enough to get a second helping. The mouth-watering paella, the aroma of wood smoke, the flow of wine and conversation, games and laughter combined to make this a truly memorable Patronal Festival.

After all, the queue was not too long.
The children loved the rectory swing.
