Choir

The Parish Church Choir sings every week, except for a roughly two month break in the summer. We welcome anyone who wishes to come and sing with us. Many come and sing regularly, and there are many who sing just when they can. There is no audition to join the choir, neither is it necessary to be able to read music although it obviously helps.

We sing a very wide range of music spanning 6 centuries. There is always new music to be worked on, but we also repeat well known and much loved music fairly regularly.

The choir is conducted by Bene't Coldstream and our parish organist is Pete Eaglesfield.

We sing at Eucharist on a Sunday morning with a rehearsal at 10am. The service starts at 10.45am. This excludes the first Sunday of every month where the choir is not required to sing. We have rehearsals on some Fridays, but not all. These are in church from 7pm - 8pm. Bene't informs the choir by email when the rehearsals will be. These are planned in advance so you can put them in your diary. We also sing at weddings and funerals, and other additional services like Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, twice on Easter Day, Festal Evensong, All Souls, and of course Christmas including a Carol service.
